If you were a poem, what sort of poem would you be?

We have the opportunity to explore a wide spectrum of different poetic forms.  I invite feedback from all of you on our discussion forum.  You may like a separate page for rhyming verse, an area for haiku or acrostics or ballads?  Let me know 🙂

Language is the earth in which we plant our seeds of inspiration.  We need to refresh it with ongoing nurture from the watering can of other people’s writing.    Our own chlorophyll responds to the rays of ideas we absorb as we tap into the source of enlightenment.

I don’t want you to get lost in your own little word (!) so I added a loving ‘L’  and its avatar came down on the wings of heart-shaped buoyancy to grace the unrestricted interval between ‘r’ and ‘d’.    I’ve set all of this into pentameter in my first blog post, so please let me know what you think.  As usual with poetry, a ballad can be distilled into more succinct verse.  I’ve made this one into a sonnet, as you can see, but there is always the question of whether this adds to or detracts from the original delivery.  If you have this sort of question concerning your own work, feel free to ask the rest of this community.  It is a priviledge to share such uncontaminated ideas.  This is the purpose of our Uni-verse page.  I hope to see you there!

In Writing Tank I invite you to share your suggestions for how to improve this poetry website.  Between us we can create our own little world!
